So, this hardtail mountain bike is reliable and boasts timeless sleek looks. It is made to let you improve yourself time and again on the local MTB trails you (will learn to) love and know so well! Thanks to the Scale 965, the latest technologies from the top segment are also affordable for beginners and more experienced mountain bikers.
The 1x12 drivetrain ensures smooth shifting from the highest to the lowest sprocket. Thinking is not required because you only have one shifter. As there is no front derailleur, cleaning the bike is easy. The Shimano SLX rear derailleur is quiet and very stable on uneven terrain thanks to the advanced Shadow Plus technology. The days of 27 gears on a mountain bike are long gone; 12 gears may not sound like much but in practice it is plenty for steep climbs and fast descents.
RockShox Judy fork
You'll love every ride on the Scott Scale 965, and the RockShox Judy Silver front fork greatly contributes to this, allowing you to ride at full speed yet smoothly over tree roots and other bumps. The suspension can be blocked via the lock-out on the handlebars, which you'll find convenient when climbing or riding on asphalt. If you want, you can have a bike mechanic adjust the fork to your weight and riding style.

Lots of bike for your money
I bought this bike to pick up mountain biking again after a break. By now, I don't want anything else. The frame attracts a lot of attention, thanks to its nice colour and racing geometry. The fork works very well and is easy to control thanks to the lock-out on the handlebars. Thanks to the offset and tyres, this bike is perfect for the singletracks in my area. The only downside is that the wheels are not tubeless-ready. Fortunately, they were easy to make tubeless with valves, rim tape and sealant.
